What hair toppers are here and how they attach

A topper covers the top of your head and clips into the hair you already have, so your own hair shows around it. The metal clips are already sewn in when it arrives. You open them, set the front clips at your hairline, then find the back clips and attach one side at a time.

A machine teased top gives you as much or as little height as you want at the crown, and it is not meant to be brushed completely flat. A monofilament base gives you a part you can move and the look of hair growing from your scalp. Both are here.

You will find smooth straight tops, soft waves, defined curls, and tops that come with bangs already cut in. Lengths run from a short crown piece to hair that falls well past your shoulders.

When a top is listed twice, one listing carries our solid colors and the other carries our rooted colors. Rooted means a darker tone at the base, so the part looks like regrowth in your own hair.

How to know what size hair topper you need

Measure the area first. Lay a tape across your part at its widest point, then run it from your front hairline back to where you want the coverage to stop. Those two numbers decide everything, because a base either sits over the area or on top of it. Where we publish base measurements, our topper bases are 5 inches wide and 5.5 to 6.5 inches long.

Hair length is the second decision, and the lengths we publish run from 8 inches to 18 inches. The ends of a topper have to blend into your own hair. A piece much longer than what you already have will read as added hair.

If the area you want covered is wider than the base, a topper will sit on that area rather than cover it, and a wig is the better answer.
