About Low-Density Wigs
What low density wigs are in this collection?
Low density means less hair on the cap. The hair sits lighter and closer to your head, and the crown reads full without reading like a lot of hair.
You will find sleek short cuts that lie close to the head, with soft bangs and a neatly fringed back. There are short layered styles with wispy bangs, chin-length bobs with smooth lines, and straight shoulder-length hair with softly textured ends. The longer pieces include mid-length curls with airy movement and hair that falls well below the shoulders. Even at those lengths the feel stays airy and lightweight.
Machine teased crowns, lace fronts and monofilament tops all appear in here. You can have gentle lift at the crown, a natural looking hairline at the front, or a part you can move.
Low density comes on our petite, average and large caps, and runs short through long.
How to tell if you need a low density wig
Low density is about how much hair is in the style, not about how the cap is made. A low density wig can be machine teased, or have a lace front, or have a monofilament crown. You are choosing the amount of hair on top of a cap choice, not instead of one.
That is usually what makes a wig read as a wig on you. A cap that fits and a color that suits you will still look borrowed if the style carries more hair than your head has ever carried.
Watch a style move on a real person before you decide, in the Virtual Wig Try-On Room. Volume is easier to judge from the back of a head in motion than from a product photograph.
A stylist experienced in cutting wigs can take hair out later, and we would rather you went to one than did it at home. Starting with less is a decision you make now.
If you have never put a wig on and thought there was too much hair, you do not need a low density style at all.
