Machine teased tops and monofilament tops both come in these shades. Machine teased gives you fullness at the crown. A monofilament base lets you part the hair where you want it, and the grey at the part reads as scalp rather than a seam.

How to match a grey hair piece to your own grey

Your own grey is not one color, which is why matching it is harder than matching a brown. Silver Stone is a salt and pepper blend with lighter grey around the face. Sandy Silver runs browner. Moonlight is a very light grey, and White is closer to snow. Stand at a window in daylight and work out which two of those your own hair sits between, because indoor light will read warmer than your hair actually is.

A piece leaves your own hair showing at the sides and the back, so the match is doing more work here than it does on a full wig. If you are choosing between more than one grey, the full color ring is $45. It puts every shade in your hand for the next piece too.
