Godiva's Secret Wigs was proud to be a part of the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer fundraising walk. Our employee, Donna, was there bright and early to provide the walkers with fun wigs to try on and take photos with. Everyone had a blast with our pink wigs!
We were very excited to be featured in the special Breast Cancer Awareness Issue of the Ventura County Star newspaper.
We were blessed to be able to donate a large amount of wigs to cancer patients for the holiday season. Many women need wigs, but are unable to afford them. By donating these gently used wigs, we hoped to make their holiday season a bit brighter!
One of our relatives, Karen, shaved her head to honor her friend Marni Levine, who lost her battle with cancer on August 31, 2006, at the age of 37. She also did it to spread the message that hair does not identify a person.
An inspiring story about a little girl named Kalista that was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata at the age of 3. Her family saw one of our articles in the newspaper and contacted us. We were able to find the perfect wig for Kalista. It was a very touching day, and an example of why we are so passionate about what we do.
KTLA News contacted us and asked if they could send reporter Allie MacKay out to one of our stores to interview us; they had heard about our company and loved our mission! We were more than excited for this opportunity!
