About Wig Grip Bands
How does a wig grip band hold a wig in place?
A wig grip band sits between your head and your wig, so the wig holds onto the band instead of sliding on hair or skin. Ours is crushed velvet on both faces, one side against your head and the other against the wig, and it closes with adjustable velcro at the back. You can wear the same band under a scarf or a hat. It comes in petite, average and large, and in black, brown, blond and grey. Our silicone band works on the same idea with a different feel, holding on both sides with silicone drops rather than velvet. The Wig Grip Cap joins a grip band to a soft cotton cap, which stays secure on a smooth scalp and is comfortable to sleep in. Milano Top Grips are the version for toppers, in a small and a large. Each has a soft velvety top and a thin adjustable strap, and holds a topper at the front with no clips, combs or glue.
How to stop a wig from slipping without glue or tape
A wig grip sits between your head and the wig and holds by grip rather than adhesive. No glue, no tape, and nothing to take off at the end of the day. You can wear one whether you have hair of your own or not, and it is our number one product for keeping a wig on.
Which one you want depends on where you need the hold. Our wig grip bands come in petite, average and large, so measure rather than guess. There is a silicone version, and a grip cap that covers the whole head instead of sitting like a band. The Milano Top Grip matters if you wear a topper and your hair is fine. The front clips of the piece attach to it rather than to your own hair.
Now the part that matters more. A grip will not fix a cap that is too big for your head. If your wig turns at the nape by mid afternoon, that is a size question, and our Wig Sizes guide answers it.
